Overview
Enhancing patient care locally and regionally through education, training, strategic planning, and evidence-based programs for pre-hospital emergency providers.
Overview

“Towards a World Class Pre-hospital Emergency Care System for Singapore” has always been UPEC’s motto since the day of its commencement. Our goal is to implement world-class EMS training that aligns with hospital standards and better serves patients’ increasingly complex needs.
Apart from a group of dedicated Emergency Medicine physicians, we have collaborated with other stakeholders, like SCDF, SMTI and paramedic training institutions, to enhance the quality of education and training for paramedics.

Simulation for PEC

Simulation as a means of training in a safe and controlled environment has become increasingly common in the field of pre-hospital emergency care.
UPEC staff and physicians work closely with SCDF paramedic educators to create simulation scenarios or environments that allow paramedics to practice, learn, evaluate, and test both existing and new knowledge and skills. It also helps paramedic crews foster teamwork and develop a better understanding of systems and team dynamics.
UPEC and SEMS collaborated in organising EMS SIMWars. UPEC also assists SAF and SCDF paramedics in preparing for competitions such as the international Ferno Australia Paramedic Simulation. Paramedic teams have participated since 2014, with the SCDF team achieving 1st runner-up in the same year.
