Medical Dispatch
By stationing medical nurses in the SCDF operations centre, a collaboration between the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Ministry of Health (MOH), they can provide medical advice, support the implementation of the Dispatcher-Assisted CPR (DA-CPR), and telephone triage protocols.
One of our key achievements was the collaboration between the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) to station medical nurses in the SCDF operations centre to assist with emergency calls. In addition to providing medical advice over the phone, the team has supported the implementation of the Dispatcher-Assisted CPR (DA-CPR) and telephone triage protocols.
Dispatcher-assisted CPR (DA-CPR) or Telephone CPR (T-CPR)
The DACPR programme has been one of the implementations where dispatchers provide CPR instructions during cardiac arrest calls. The impact of DACPR has now extended to encouraging the initiation of bystander CPR and early defibrillation.
Telephone Triage System
The implementation of the telephone triage system at the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) marked a significant step in enhancing emergency response capabilities. By integrating dispatch nurses into the SCDF operations centre, the team played a pivotal role in refining and executing this system. The triage system allows dispatchers to assess emergencies more effectively over the phone, ensuring that the appropriate level of care is delivered promptly.
