Development of Clinical Protocols for National EMS
Paramedics are the extended arms of doctors from the hospitals. SCDF paramedics execute critical interventions in accordance with medical protocols. The Unit for Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (UPEC) supports SCDF in various phases of clinical protocol development:
Advising the Protocol Sub-Committee in reviewing current protocols and proposing new ones based on the latest medical evidence, guidelines, and best practices.
Initiating and supporting SCDF in the implementation of new protocols and clinical skills through trials, training and research.
