Guided by the vision of "Towards a World-Class Pre-hospital Emergency Care System for Singapore," the Pre-hospital Emergency Care Health Informatics and Innovation Team is committed to leveraging technology and data-driven solutions to enhance emergency medical services (EMS). Our goal is to integrate innovative healthcare informatics with pre-hospital care, ensuring seamless coordination between paramedics, emergency departments, and other healthcare providers for improved patient outcomes.
Beyond our team of dedicated UPEC members, we work closely with key stakeholders, including SCDF, Emergency Departments, MOH and other healthcare technology partners. Together, we strive to develop cutting-edge digital solutions, improve data accessibility, and enhance EMS training through advanced simulation and telemedicine initiatives. By harnessing innovation and informatics, we aim to elevate pre-hospital emergency care standards and create a more responsive and efficient emergency medical system in Singapore.
Operational Medical Network Informatics Integrators (OMNII)
Project OMNII is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Home Affairs – Singapore Civil Defence Force (MHA-SCDF) aimed at enabling seamless data sharing among the 995 Operations Centre, ground ambulance teams, and hospital emergency departments. UPEC co-chairs this project alongside SCDF, providing clinical expertise and operational input from a healthcare perspective.
Through this initiative, patients' essential medical history will be made available to paramedics, allowing for more accurate assessment and timely treatment. Additionally, the pre-hospital care record will be transmitted in real-time to the receiving emergency department, facilitating early preparation and activation of the necessary medical services. This system also enhances hospital resource management by providing an overview of incoming patients’ conditions, statuses, and estimated arrival times, ensuring more efficient emergency care coordination.
