Foreword by Clinical Director
Emergency care begins even before the Emergency Department. Our vision is for Singapore to have a world-class Pre-hospital Emergency Care system that is readily accessible to all and providing excellent patient outcomes. With the twin challenges of increasing healthcare needs in Singapore and resource limitations, we work with key stakeholders from multiple agencies to improve integration of operations and processes, review policies, analyse data, improve community response, support education, and develop technology. In so doing, UPEC aims to strengthen all aspects of pre-hospital emergency care in Singapore, so as to improve our patient outcomes and optimise the effectiveness of our emergency medical services.
Pre-hospital Emergency Care is not only healthcare provision, but a systematic, integrated response to pre-hospital emergencies.
